GH2 India announces ProClime as its Carbon Partner at the Climate and Energy Transition Finance Summit

New Delhi, November 29, 2024 — The Climate and Energy Transition Finance Summit (CETFiS) concluded with resounding success, gathering 200 global leaders and industry experts committed to advancing climate finance. Hosted by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and the G20 India secretariat in collaboration with the Green Hydrogen Organisation, the summit aimed to pave the way for a sustainable future.

A key outcome of CETFiS was the crafting of the Delhi Message on Climate Finance, a five-point plan co-issued by the Green Hydrogen Organisation and its Indian partners ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's attendance at the UN Climate Conference COP28 in Dubai. The message underscored the imperative of substantial capital investments to transition away from fossil fuels, emphasising the pivotal role of capital markets and tailored financial solutions.

Amitabh Kant, G20 sherpa, underscored the summit's critical role in the global fight against climate change, highlighting the urgency for transformative actions.

In a significant development, the Green Hydrogen Organisation, a prominent advocate for green hydrogen, announced a strategic partnership with ProClime, a forthcoming climate action company, as their carbon partner in India. Jonas Moberg, CEO of the Green Hydrogen Organisation, expressed optimism about Indian companies taking a lead in global green fuel production.

Kavin Kumar Kandaswamy, CEO of ProClime, emphasised their partnership's focus on bolstering carbon funding initiatives and advancing the GH2 standard as a Voluntary Standard, aiming to drive widespread global adoption.

Supporting these initiatives, Special Advisor Tarun Kapoor emphasised the importance of industry collaboration in establishing a robust green fuels economy in India. Senior Advisor Sanmit Ahuja highlighted the pivotal role of capital markets in financing sustainable energy projects.

The CETFiS marked a pivotal moment in advancing climate finance strategies, setting a strong precedent for global cooperation and innovation towards achieving sustainable development goals.
